Jam Straight was formed in Washington Township, NJ in the summer of 2005. Our heavy/funky/down-home style is influenced by the music we grew up on which ranges from the Allman Brothers to Frank Zappa. Jerry, Jim, Mike, and Neil combine their love of music with over 80 years of collective experience to create new music and explore through improvisation.

Jerry Squillante (drums), Jim Nappi (bass), Mike Marvin (guitar) & Neil Nappi (guitar) make up Jam Straight. While Jerry and Neil worked together on several projects over the years, this is the first time the Nappi brothers have joined forces. Jerry took up drums in high school with a love for Keith Moon and Art Blakey. Jim and Mike played together for many years in a band called Full Tilt, before Jim made the the jump from drums to bass several years ago. Two big influences for Jim are John Paul Jones and Allen Woody, while Mike draws his influences from Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, and blues legends such as Freddie and B.B. King. Growing up on Led Zeppelin, The Doors and Lynyrd Skynyrd, Neil embarked on a guitar playing odyssey that continues to this day.

Together Jam Straight’s sounds range from Blues to Classic and Progressive Rock to Funk and Early Metal. Lead singer/guitarist Neil mixes electric waves of feedback with smooth vocals. Solidified by the prehistoric rythym section of Jim & Jerry, and Mike's sizzling guitar sounds, Jam Straight brings you back to rock’s foundations. Tight arrangements, lush guitar, syncopated bass lines and heart pounding drum grooves.
